E-Scooters in Dubai

The good news is, there are still plenty of designated areas where you can whiz around on your e-scooter in Dubai. But before you hop on, here’s what you need to know:

E-Scooters in Dubai: Rental and Regulations

Four operators currently manage the e-scooter rental business in Dubai: Tier, Lime, Arnab, and Skurrt. All use a similar system where you scan a QR code on the scooter using your chosen app to unlock and start your ride.

Operating an e-scooter in Dubai requires a driving license from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). However, an exception applies if you’re using it on pavements or designated cycling tracks. Additionally, you must be over 16 years old and refrain from carrying passengers. Violating these rules can result in a fine of AED 300.
