Picture starting your workday with sunlight through the trees, a pond in front of you and birds instead of buzzing phones. In Dubai, you can now do exactly that. The city has opened its first “Work From Park” hub at Al Barsha Pond Park.
What Is It?
Dubai Municipality launched the project on November 2, 2026, working with flexible workspace platform Letswork and construction firm Group AMANA. It mixes free outdoor work areas with indoor air conditioned coworking, meeting rooms and private suites.
This is the first phase. The city plans to look at feedback before bringing the idea to more parks.
Why Al Barsha Pond Park?
Ahmed Mohammed Almarzooqi, Manager of Dubai Public Parks at Dubai Municipality, said the park was picked for its strategic location and its range of facilities. It already has a pond, a jogging track and a children’s play area, so it’s a popular spot for families and runners.
That makes the idea easy to picture. You can send emails or join a video call, then take a walk or watch the kids play without going far.
Free Outdoor Desks
The outdoor workspaces cost nothing. You don’t need a booking or a day pass. Omar Al Mheiri, co-founder and CTO of Letswork, put it simply: outside is completely free for people to come, sit and work.
You can pick a seat under a shaded pergola or on the rooftop terrace. There are power sockets and basic free guest Wi-Fi. If you need faster internet, that comes with the paid indoor plan.
There’s one catch. Dubai summers are hard on outdoor work. The organisers say they’re working on cooling options and weatherproof furniture, but those are plans for now.
Indoor Coworking From Dh50
If you’d rather work somewhere cool and quiet, the indoor coworking space opens from 8am to 8pm and fits about 30 people. A day pass costs Dh50 and includes a desk, fast Wi-Fi, power and USB-C charging points, and coffee. Letswork members can use credits instead of paying cash.
You can book through Letswork’s website, app or WhatsApp. Across all its spaces, the hub can hold up to 100 people.
Meeting Rooms and Private Desks
Teams and small businesses have options too:
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| Indoor day pass | Dh50 per day |
| Meeting room (up to 9 people) | From Dh200 per hour or Dh1,200 per day |
| Dedicated desk in Workspace Suites | Dh1,200 per month |
| Private office | Price not yet announced |
There are two meeting rooms, each fitted with screens and sound systems. Whiteboards and flip charts are available on request. Dedicated desk members also get lockers and access to a member network.
More Than Just Desks
Letswork and Dubai Municipality plan to run yoga, football and tennis sessions, plus networking and community events. For working parents, that could mean finishing a report while the kids burn off energy nearby.
There’s an interesting building detail too. Most of the structures were made off site, then moved in and set up in under three months. That kept the park open and caused less disruption for regular visitors.
Mohannad Al-Omari from Group AMANA said the outdoor stations will have power, internet and sockets, so people can stay connected.
Tips Before You Go
Charge your laptop and bring headphones, since a park is lively. Go earlier in the day if you want a shaded spot, and check the weather, because outdoor work depends on it. If you need to take calls or work for several hours in a row, the Dh50 indoor pass is probably worth it. Since the source doesn’t give opening hours for the outdoor area, check Letswork before heading out.
More Dubai News
Dubai keeps trying new ideas, from work to policing. The city’s police recently cut forensic test time from 60 minutes to under one minute.
And if you’re a regular visitor who might want to stay longer, there’s also a new club that gives repeat visitors a five year visa and Dh2,000 in credit, which could pair nicely with a laptop and a good view.
Work From Park turns a familiar green space into a place to get things done. You can try it for free outdoors, pay Dh50 for a calmer indoor day, or book a room for the team. If it does well, your favourite park could be next.
