Dubai is once again leading the charge in artificial intelligence as the driving force behind transforming the public sector. Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has now officially opened applications for its second cycle of its program, the “Future of AI in Government Services Accelerator” programme, where leading AI experts and companies across the world will be recruited to work with over 20 government entities in developing the next-generation, AI-powered government services. As the programme is scheduled to take place between October 6 and November 28, 2025, the city seeks to hasten its plan to be a world leader in terms of AI-driven governance.

An Opportunity to Innovate in Dubai
The deadline is August 29, 2025 and the award will fly the awardees to Dubai, where they will spend eight weeks in residency. It will consist of sponsored travel and accommodation, access privileges to senior decision-makers, and, perhaps most notably, ownership of the intellectual property they develop.
Projects will focus on:
- Advancing the personalisation of public services using AI
- Development of new services based on AI in a green field
- Automation of government business to achieve higher efficiency
- Making technology nothing but inclusive and accessible

Proven Success from First Cycle
This was already increased to 615 companies out of 55 countries in the first edition in 2024. Of the 183 AI use cases prepared, 75 were tested in a real-life government situation, which is a good indicator that Dubai is not merely trying to say that they are working on AI, but they are doing it.
Part of a Bigger Vision
The accelerator falls under the Dubai Universal Blueprint of AI and the D33 Economic Agenda, whose goal is to increase the GDP by AED 100 billion per year via digital innovation.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has expressed his desire clearly on the aim to make the city a leader in AI. DCAI has also, under his guidance, introduced:
- Dubai AI Seal—to endorse reliable AI solutions
- One Million Prompters—to train one million humans in AI prompt engineering
- Dubai AI Academy—to capacitate 10,000 professionals in AI
- Dubai AI Week—a global gathering for AI leaders and innovators
According to Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of DCAI, AI can transform the way the country delivers its public services in that it cannot only make them faster but also more humane. It is a programme on the creation of such solutions here, in Dubai, with the world’s best minds.
