Virat played an important innings of 35 runs against Sri Lanka in the final of the 2011 ODI World Cup. India won the World Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka. In the 2013 Champions Trophy, Virat scored important 43 runs against England. Thanks to this innings, Team India managed to win. In the final of the 2014 T20 World Cup, Virat scored 77 runs against Sri Lanka.

In reply, South Africa could only score 169 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs and Team India became the champion by winning the match by seven runs.
