The IPL 2026 mini-auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16, with 10 franchises having 77 slots, a total prize money of ₹237.55 crore, and a pool of 359 players. As the mini-auction is taking place in Abu Dhabi, some franchises have almost finalized their squads, while others will have to work hard at the auction table to build a strong team ahead of the next season. As the Indian Premier League prepares for its 19th leg, 10 teams will meet at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi for the 2026 season mini-auction.
The retention deadline ended on November 15, leaving KKR with the highest bid of ₹64.30 crore for 13 slots and CSK with ₹43.40 crore for nine slots, while MI lagged with just ₹2.75 crore. Before retention, Sanju Samson was the most traded player, moving to the Chennai Super Kings. Ravindra Jadeja joined the Rajasthan Royals as part of that trade deal. Nitish Rana went to the Delhi Capitals, while Shardul Thakur was traded from the Lucknow Super Giants to the Mumbai Indians.
The auction will see bids for 369 players, with 10 franchises filling 77 slots between them. Each team can retain a maximum of 25 players, including eight foreign players. KKR has the highest pool of ₹64.30 crore, followed by Chennai Super Kings, which has ₹43.40 crore. Among the biggest signings will be Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who last played for RCB. Venkatesh Iyer, who was signed by KKR for ₹23.75 crore in the mega auction, was released before this auction and will be in the sights of several teams.
