Dubai Watch Week witnessed the grand showcase of the crème de la crème in the world of horology as the winners of the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), often dubbed the “Oscars of watchmaking” took center stage. The event, held in Geneva earlier last month, recognized outstanding timepieces across fifteen diverse categories, celebrating both engineering excellence and captivating design.

At the pinnacle of this horological celebration stood the Chronomètre Ferdinand Berthoud FB 1, crowned with the coveted Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix. Crafted by Ferdinand Berthoud, this limited-edition masterpiece boasts a stunning combination of white gold and titanium, elevating its aesthetic allure. Retailing for a staggering sum exceeding $200,000, the FB 1 features a luxurious leather strap and is powered by a meticulously hand-wound movement, consisting of an impressive 1,120 components.

The Public Prize, determined through international online votes and participation at select global watch exhibitions, found its deserving recipient in the 33 bis Quai des Bergues by Czapek Genève. After making their mark in Seoul, Rome, and Geneva, the award-winning watches descended upon Dubai on November 15 for a grand finale at Dubai Watch Week.
