If you travel regularly between Doha and Dubai, Qatar Airways has some useful news for you. The airline is significantly expanding its operations on the route, moving from two daily flights to five daily services as summer travel demand builds across the Gulf region.
The expansion is being rolled out in stages — three daily flights from June 5, a fourth from June 15, and the fifth service arriving later in the summer. At full capacity, that works out to up to 35 weekly flights between the two cities.
Qatar Airways Expands Dubai Capacity
The airline is operating the expanded schedule using Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft, giving passengers a range of cabin options across both premium and economy travel. The phased rollout is designed to match the gradual increase in demand as the summer season gets underway.
For passengers who need to connect through Doha’s Hamad International Airport onward to destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, or North America, more frequent Dubai flights also mean more connection options and shorter waits between services.

Growing Demand Drives Expansion
Dubai doesn’t need much introduction as a travel destination — millions of visitors pass through every year for tourism, shopping, business events, and international exhibitions. The city’s consistent pulling power makes it a natural priority for any airline looking to increase Gulf capacity.
Travel industry observers have been noting the strong recovery in regional air travel demand throughout 2026, and the Qatar Airways expansion is a direct reflection of that confidence. Both leisure and business travel between the UAE and Qatar have been growing, and the airline is adding capacity to meet it.
Part of Wider Network Restoration
The Dubai expansion fits within a broader effort by Qatar Airways to restore and strengthen its regional network. Earlier this year, the airline resumed daily services to Dubai and Sharjah, followed by a restoration of double-daily operations to Abu Dhabi. The UAE has been a consistent priority in the airline’s regional recovery strategy.
The expanded schedule builds on that foundation, providing more meaningful frequency on one of the Gulf’s busiest city pairs.

Benefits for Business and Leisure Travelers
More flights on a route means more scheduling flexibility — which matters differently depending on why you’re traveling. Business travelers can book the departure that best fits their meeting schedule. Leisure travelers have more options around weekends and holiday periods. And transit passengers gain access to more connection windows.
For UAE residents making short trips to Qatar and Qataris visiting Dubai, the additional services reduce the friction of planning around limited schedules.
Summer Travel Demand Remains Strong
Qatar Airways has also announced broader international expansion to more than 150 destinations, reflecting wider confidence in travel demand through 2026. The Dubai route increase is one piece of a larger picture of airline growth across the region.
With tourism activity holding strong and business travel maintaining momentum, the Doha-Dubai corridor is well-positioned to remain one of the busier links in the Gulf’s aviation network through the summer season and beyond.
