As the UAE prepares to celebrate UAE National Day, also known as Eid Al-Ithaq, spectacular fireworks displays are planned across the country. On December 2nd, the anniversary will be celebrated at the most prominent locations in cities, marking 54 years since six of the seven emirates became one nation. This day is widely celebrated in the United Arab Emirates.
The night sky will be illuminated with red, green, and white colors, with fireworks and drone shows, as well as numerous ground-level activities, ranging from parades to children’s games and cultural performances. This year’s theme is “United,” and community events and experiences will take place across all seven emirates, and the government is inviting everyone who calls the UAE home to join in.
Here are some of the best places to watch fireworks in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
Dubai
From December 1 to 3, one of the most festive venues will be Global Village, where fireworks in the colors of the UAE flag will light up the sky at 9 p.m. on all three nights. A UAE-themed drone show will also take place on December 1 and 2. Tickets to see the show are included in the price of regular general admission tickets (from Dh25 or $7).

Near Dubai Creek, Souq Al Seef will also be illuminated on December 2 at 9 p.m. At the same time, spectacular fireworks will fill the sky above the JBR beachfront, on the other side of the city. Nearby, visit the boardwalk at Bluewaters Island for another free fireworks show.
For Dh75 ($20), you can get tickets to the celebrations at Dubai Festival City Mall, where fireworks will light up the sky above Festival Bay starting at 8 p.m. on December 2, followed by pop star Balqees’ main stage. A little further out in the city, Hatta is also gearing up for the festival. Starting at 8 p.m. on December 2nd, you can watch the famous Hollywood-style Hatta sign light up.
Abu Dhabi
Two nights of fireworks are planned on the Yas Bay Waterfront, starting at 9 p.m. on December 2nd and 3rd. The festivities at the Yas Island hotspot will begin at 3 p.m. on both days, featuring cultural performances, installations, and activities, including a classic car exhibition. Entry is free, but you must register on the website before your visit.
The Mother of the Nation Festival is also celebrating the occasion with fireworks displays on December 2nd at both festival venues, Al Ain Square and Al Mugera Bay, Al Dhafra (timings have not yet been announced). Tickets cost Dh25 ($7) per person.

At the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, the fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. on December 2nd, but the hotel is also celebrating with children’s activities, art workshops, and performances from November 29th to December 4th. The property’s famous exterior will also be illuminated in a vibrant array of colors each evening, paying tribute to the UAE. Entry is free, while some activities will incur an additional charge.
Sharjah
Sharjah has released a comprehensive schedule of events, which began on November 19th and continues until December 2nd. This includes a variety of cultural, artistic, and community events showcasing the UAE’s history and heritage. Fireworks are a key part of the celebration, with displays taking place at Kalba Fishing Village and Dibba Al Hisn.
Al Majaz Waterfront is also the traditional location for the National Day fireworks, with spectacular fireworks displays over Khalid Lagoon. However, almost every neighborhood in the emirate has something going on, whether it’s poetry readings, operettas, costume competitions, or patriotic parades. And it’s all free.

Tips for Spectators—Make the Most of National Day Fireworks
- Arrive early: Popular locations like Global Village, JBR, Yas Bay, and Al Majaz are often crowded. Arriving at least an hour before the fireworks display can help avoid parking and traffic hassles.
- Check show times: Times may vary, especially for local drone shows or beachfront displays. Confirm on the official municipal or venue website.
- Dress weather-ready: Winds can be strong in the evening, especially near the coast—bring light outerwear.
- Plan for transport: Use public transportation or rideshare to avoid parking hassles, especially after 10 p.m.
- Capture the moment: Fireworks in the Waterfront District and beachfront areas make for beautiful photos—perfect for sharing memories or posting on social media.
