Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who remained unsold in the Indian Premier League 2025 auction, seems to be making a comeback in the league. Shardul has been with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team for several days and is practicing with them. There were constant speculations about why Shardul is with this team? Now the answer seems to be found. Actually, LSG’s fast bowler Mohsin Khan is not fully fit and now Shardul can replace him. The franchise was already aware of Mohsin’s injury, which is why Shardul was called from the first day of the camp.
Mohsin’s fitness was being constantly monitored, but now in case some other bowlers are also unfit, the team can officially decide to add Shardul to their team before the start of the season. Mohsin, who could not play cricket for almost three months due to injury, when he became a part of the camp with LSG, he suffered another injury, due to which it became a bit difficult for him to be a part of the season. According to reports, Shardul will go to Visakhapatnam for the first match of LSG. He has been informed by the franchise and it will be officially announced before this match.
At present, the injury of fast bowlers remains the biggest problem for LSG. Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav have not yet become fully fit, while Akashdeep has also not joined the team. Avesh has recovered from his knee injury, while Akashdeep and Mayank are still in the NCA. Mayank has recently started bowling but he is expected to be out of the first half of the league.
Due to many bowlers being unfit and not being able to join the team yet, Lucknow Super Giants has to sign an injury replacement in the form of Shardul Thakur.
