In Dubai, where luxury and exclusivity go hand-in-hand, a car’s license RTA plate can be more than just a registration number – it’s a statement. The lower the number, the greater the perceived wealth and status of the owner.

RTA Plates

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering a rare opportunity to grab a coveted status symbol for your car with their upcoming 115th open licensing RTA plates auction. Three particularly special RTA plates are generating a lot of buzz: AA16, AA69, and AA123.

But the auction isn’t limited to just these “super plates.” The RTA is putting a total of 90 unique number RTA plates up for grabs, catering to a wide range of preferences. These RTA plates come in two, three, four, and even five digits, allowing you to find the perfect combination for your private vehicle, vintage car, motorbike, or any mode of transport with codes ranging from AA to YZ.

Don’t miss your chance!

The clock is ticking for those interested in participating in the auction. Bidder registration closes on May 18th at 2:00 PM, with the auction itself taking place later that day at 4:30 PM at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City.

How to Register and Participate for RTA Plate

There are three convenient ways to register for the auction:

  • Online: Visit the RTA website (rta.ae).
  • Mobile App: Download and use the Dubai Drive app.
  • In-Person: Visit any of the RTA’s Customers Happiness Centres located in Umm Al Ramool, Deira, or Al Barsha.

Important Requirements

Before you register, be sure you meet the following requirements:

  • You must have a valid traffic file opened in Dubai.
  • You will need to submit a security cheque amounting to AED 25,000 payable to the RTA.
  • There’s a non-refundable participation fee of AED 120.

Payment for the participation fee can be made in person at any of the RTA’s Customers Happiness Centres, through the RTA website, or via the Dubai Drive app.

International Driving Licenses

Expat residents holding driving licenses from GCC countries, the UK, South Africa, France, Belgium, Germany, and other approved countries can use their home country licenses to drive or rent a car in Dubai.

Tourists who plan on short-term car rentals will need to obtain an international driving permit alongside their home country license.

With a diverse selection of RTA plates and a chance to snag a truly unique status symbol, the RTA’s 115th open licensing RTA plates auction is sure to be an exciting event. So, if you’ve been dreaming of adding a touch of exclusivity to your car, be sure to register before the deadline and get ready to bid!
