The owner of the Jio Hotstar domain, which has been the center of discussion on social media for the last few days, has decided to give it to Reliance for free. According to the report, putting an end to speculations on various social media forums, Dubai-based brother-sister Jainam and Jeevika have decided to transfer it to Reliance without any charge.
This news of the internet domain name attracted a lot of attention on social media in recent times. However, this news ended with ‘seva and daya’ according to both the siblings. This website ID was registered by a Delhi-based app developer last year amid speculations about the possible merger of Reliance Jio and Disney Hotstar.
Last month, the developer had demanded money for his higher education at Cambridge University in exchange for transferring the ownership of the domain. This demand was made a few days after Reliance Jio and The Walt Disney formally announced the merger of their media businesses.

However, later the Dubai-based siblings bought the ‘jiohotstar.com’ domain from its registered owner. It is believed that the domain was sold to the Dubai-based siblings after the registered owner of Reliance rejected the offer. The siblings told that the legal team of Reliance IP contacted them and both decided to hand over the ownership to them Reliance.
A statement issued by the siblings said, “Today our journey with jiohotstar.com is coming to an end, which started with a simple task of helping a young developer from Delhi to fulfill his dreams. It has been wonderful to share this platform with all of you.”
