The Indian cricket team performed brilliantly and defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in their very first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. After winning the toss, Bangladesh team decided to bat first. The team had a bad start but due to the century partnership of Tauhid Hridoy and Zakir Ali, they scored 228 runs.
From India’s side, Mohammad Shami took 5 wickets and marked his debut in the Champions Trophy. In response, Indian cricket team got a strong start from captain Rohit. After this, the team kept losing wickets from one side but Shubman Gill stood at one end and gave India victory due to his century innings.

Many records were made and many records were broken in this match. During this match, Mohammed Shami became the fastest Indian to take 200 ODI wickets. Rohit Sharma became the second fastest player to score 11,000 ODI runs and then registered his 100th win as Indian captain.
If Virat Kohli had managed to score 37 runs in this match, there would have been a pile of records. However, Virat could not succeed in doing so. He was out after scoring 22 runs and still needs 15 runs to score 14 thousand runs. Let’s take a close look at the records that were made and broken.
