flydubai and Air India have entered into a new two-way interline partnership aimed at expanding travel options for customers of both airlines. The agreement connects their networks through key hubs in Dubai, Delhi and Mumbai.
Under the partnership, Air India passengers will be able to access additional destinations on the flydubai network through Dubai. At the same time, flydubai customers will get more options to connect to Air India destinations through Delhi and Mumbai.
The agreement includes a two-way interline arrangement and Special Prorate Agreement (SPA). This is designed to make connections between the two airline networks easier for eligible passengers travelling across multiple regions.
Air India Passengers Get Access to 52 flydubai Destinations
One of the main benefits for Air India customers is access to 52 additional destinations across the flydubai network via Dubai. These destinations cover several markets across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the CIS region.
The 52 destinations include 23 destinations in Europe, 21 in the Middle East, six in Africa and two in the CIS. This gives Air India passengers more connecting options when travelling beyond the airline’s existing network.
Dubai will serve as the main connecting point for Air India customers using flydubai services under the agreement. This could provide additional routing options for passengers travelling from India to destinations served by flydubai.

flydubai Customers Get Access to 69 Air India Destinations
The partnership also works in the other direction. Customers travelling with flydubai will get access to 69 destinations across Air India’s network, with connections available through Delhi and Mumbai.
Delhi and Mumbai will act as important gateways for flydubai passengers looking to continue their journeys on Air India flights. This expands the number of destinations that can be reached through a combination of the two airline networks.
The wider connectivity covers markets across India and other international destinations served by Air India. For travellers, the agreement can create more options when planning journeys that require connecting flights.
How the flydubai-Air India Partnership Works
An interline partnership allows airlines to combine parts of their networks so that eligible passengers can travel using flights operated by both carriers. Instead of treating each flight as a completely separate journey, the arrangement provides a more connected booking experience.
The new agreement between flydubai and Air India includes a Special Prorate Agreement, which sets out how fares and revenue can be handled between the participating airlines for eligible connecting journeys.
For passengers, the key benefit is expanded access to destinations through the partner airline’s network. The exact booking and baggage arrangements can depend on the itinerary and the terms attached to the ticket.
Dubai, Delhi and Mumbai Become Key Connecting Hubs
The partnership places three major cities at the centre of the expanded network. Dubai will connect Air India customers to flydubai destinations, while Delhi and Mumbai will provide access for flydubai customers travelling onward with Air India.
These cities are already important aviation hubs with extensive domestic and international connectivity. Combining the two airline networks gives passengers additional ways to plan journeys involving connecting flights.
The arrangement also links major travel markets across Europe, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The airlines have indicated that there are plans to expand the network available to customers further.
flydubai Expands Network Ahead of Winter Travel Season
The interline announcement comes shortly after flydubai revealed an expansion of its network to more than 125 destinations across 56 countries.
The airline has also said it had restored operations to around 85% of its network, while adding capacity for the winter travel season. Additional services are being introduced across several markets in response to passenger demand.
Central Asia and Southeast Asia are among the markets seeing increased services. Dubai continues to serve as a major base for flydubai, with the airline operating an average of around 2,200 weekly flights.
What This Means for Travellers
For passengers, the new agreement means more connecting possibilities when travelling between India and destinations served by flydubai and Air India. A traveller can potentially use one airline for one part of the journey and the partner airline for the connecting sector.
Air India customers travelling through Dubai can access flydubai’s additional destinations, while flydubai passengers can use Delhi or Mumbai to connect with Air India’s network.
Travellers should check the details of their specific itinerary when booking, including flight schedules, connection times, baggage conditions and any applicable fare rules. These can vary depending on the ticket and route.

More International Connections Through Dubai
Dubai’s position as a major international aviation hub makes it an important part of the new partnership. Air India passengers will be able to use the city’s extensive flight network to connect to additional flydubai destinations.
The arrangement is particularly relevant for passengers travelling between India and parts of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, where flydubai operates services. It also adds more choices for travellers planning multi-sector international journeys.
As the airlines continue to expand their networks, the partnership could provide access to additional routes in the future. Both carriers have indicated that network expansion remains part of their plans.
What Travellers Should Check Before Booking
Passengers planning to use the new flydubai-Air India connectivity should check whether the interline agreement covers their preferred route. Flight availability can vary by destination, date, and schedule.
It is also important to check the conditions attached to the booking, particularly when a journey includes flights operated by both airlines. Travellers should review baggage allowances, connection times, check-in requirements, and any transit requirements before travelling.
For passengers travelling through Dubai, Delhi, or Mumbai, allowing enough time between connecting flights can also be important, particularly on international itineraries.
