The Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand serves as the largest Emirates Lounge outside of Dubai following its recent expansion. The airline declared that this $5 million investment demonstrates Thailand’s vital position among its core markets across its global network. The Satellite 1 Terminal (SAT-1) lounge now covers 1,454 square metres to serve 250 passengers at a time.

The lounge space was designed for complete premium passenger coverage when two A380 departures operated together. The Bangkok lounge expansion has become the biggest international lounge facility that operates outside Emirates’ home market territory according to airline statements.
Emirates First and Business Class travelers along with its Skywards members gain lounge access for pre-flight rest according to the airline policy. Travelers can find various services at the lounge which include shower spas and complimentary Wi-Fi access and a selection of food and beverages for guests. Emirates maintains 41 airport lounges globally distributed across 34 locations outside Dubai International Airport and seven points within the airport itself.

Emirates airline marks its 35th anniversary of operations in Thailand throughout this current year. After many years the airline continued reinforcing its efforts to develop travel and business activities in Southeast Asia’s primary hub. The airline provides five daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok along with Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft while maintaining two Phuket flights per day and one direct service between Bangkok and Hong Kong.
From March until June 2025 Emirates terminated first-class check-in services at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Travelers who use the premium lounge at Dubai International Airport can now access private entrances to proceed with their flight check in when the area reopens according to Emirates.
The airline instructed travelers bound for US and other destinations to use the Terminal 3 check-in desks until June this year. The first-class check-in area of Dubai International Airport remains closed through June 2025 to establish a new private and extravagant lounge space. Passengers traveling to the US or different locations should use check-in desks 54-60 for flights to the US and 16-20 for all other flights during the upgrade period according to the notice.

The recent half-year results of 2024-25 from Emirates demonstrated Dh44 million investment toward establishing premium facilities including London Stansted and Jeddah airport lounges along with Paris Charles De Gaulle lounge renovations. A new traveling store opened by Emirates last year became the first of its Eastern Asian locations in Hong Kong and it introduced its experiential travel store in London.
