Dubai Ruler His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has officially announced the sixth edition of the Arab Hope Makers initiative, a programme that honours the unsung heroes of the Arab world—individuals, voluntary groups, and organizations that devote their lives to serving others.

The program, which is an aspect of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), keeps on publishing narratives of kindness, innovation, and community service that have a tangible impact throughout the region.

Honouring Hope in Action
The Arab Hope Makers initiative, launched in 2017, has been the biggest initiative of its kind in the Arab world since then, highlighting individuals who bring optimism and do not seek self-benefit to better the living situation.
Talking about the initiative, Sheikh Mohammed pointed out the power of hope as a transformer: The greatest and the noblest goal of the people who want to serve their communities is to create hope. The hope makers allow entry to dreams and feelings of protection. We have heroes of our Arab world to be proud of, and they present to us daily models of generosity and commitment to serving others.
The programme will inculcate a culture of giving, volunteering, and social responsibility values in people, and this will be achieved by appreciating the good deeds of kindness as part of the UAE vision about community life and integration.

Empowering a Culture of Giving
The Arab Hope Makers program has been nominated over 320,000 times throughout the years by people in different parts of the Arab world, and this demonstrates the strong desire of thousands of people to assist in the humanitarian efforts of the company.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, who is the Secretary-General of MBRGI, called the project a positivity and purpose platform and has stated three essential goals:
- Creating a giving culture through the emphasis of inspirational stories.
- Enabling persons and organizations to make social change.
- Infecting people with positivity by serving and loving.
The participants are eligible and include, but are not limited to, individuals, volunteer groups, and non-profit organisations whose activity has positively impacted the area in some measurable way, including education, healthcare, reduction of poverty, sustainability, and empowerment of communities.
Stories That Inspire
Arab Hope Makers recognizes outstanding work in the region every year. The last version had Ahmed Zainoun of Morocco as the best Arab Hope Maker because of his endless efforts in taking care of children with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a rare genetic disorder called Children of the Moon.
Zainoun took in 144 children by himself, funding protective equipment and drugs. Sheikh Mohammed appreciated his contribution, as he gave him an AED 1 million prize, and the other two competitors who reached the final stage received the same prize, amounting to AED 3 million in prizes.
The contributions do not just honor the past successes but also allow the winners to increase their actions and keep on generating sustainable change.

Building a Brighter Future
Arab Hope Makers’ sixth edition has now commenced nominations through www.arabhopemakers.com where nominations are being taken throughout the Arab world.
Sheikh Mohammed, in a message posted on social media, wrote:

Hope makes people live, and societies are happy because of hope and a brighter future. It is a strength, the power of change, and the key to rejuvenation. People who dedicated themselves to humanity are present in every village and city; we find them and publish their stories to encourage others to do the same.
By using the Arab Hope Makers, Dubai is once again supporting its image as a source of hope and humanitarian leadership and leaving a generation of people believing in the possibilities of good acts to transform the world.
