Dubai Road Closure, Dubai, UAE: Motorists are advised to expect significant travel delays as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the Dubai road closure of a major stretch of the Dubai-Al Ain Road for essential maintenance work.

Dubai Road Closure

The road closure will be implemented in two phases:

Phase 1: Weekend Dubai Road Closures

  • Duration: Two weeks, starting from Friday, August 9, 2024.
  • Timing: 1am to 10am every weekend.
  • Detours: Drivers traveling to or from Al Ain will be directed to use the Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road for detours.

Phase 2: Nightly Closures

  • Duration: One month, from Friday, August 9 to Monday, September 9, 2024.
  • Timing: 10pm to 6am daily.
  • Impact: Traffic congestion is expected during these hours.

The maintenance work focuses on bridge improvements at the fifth intersection with Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road on the Dubai-Al Ain Road. While the Dubai road closure are necessary for enhancing road infrastructure, they are likely to cause inconvenience to commuters.

The RTA has urged motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time during the affected periods. It’s recommended to use alternative routes or public transportation if possible.

This latest Dubai road closure follows similar maintenance work on Emirates Road in July, highlighting the RTA’s ongoing efforts to improve Dubai’s road network and reduce traffic congestion.

Stalk Dubai will continue to provide updates on major road projects and transportation changes to help you navigate the city smoothly.
