Dubai Municipality stated that during the four day weekend on UAE National Day, 4 beaches in Dubai will remain opened only for families. From November 30th to December 3rd, Jumeirah Beach 2, Jumeirah 3, Umm Suqeim 1 and Umm Suqeim 2 will be only available for families for the 53rd National Day celebration. Eid Al Etihad is a national event, which is known to be celebrated on the 2nd of December every year to mark the birth of the UAE in 1971.
Ibrahim Mohammad Juma, director of Public Beaches and Waterways Department at the Dubai Municipality, said: “This policy of dedicating the public beaches in Dubai for families during the Eid Al Etihad festivities is adopted to control the flow of the people to the beaches where the huge rush is observed during the holidays and festivals. It also aim to give the families a chance to spend time at the beach in Dubai during the holiday.”

Dubai Municipality has also employed an “integrated safety and rescue team” composed of 135 members. Also, a 60-member field supervisory team has been deployed to monitor the various activities of the beaches during the holidays. Alongside its partners, the civic body will be vigilantly tracking all operations at the beaches. Many public and private employees will be allowed to take paid holidays for December 2nd and 3rd.
