Effective from Friday, August 30, 2024, the new routes will streamline travel times and provide better access to key Metro stations. The RTA has carefully considered passenger feedback and traffic patterns to implement these changes.

Key Changes to Dubai Bus Routes

  • Route 31 Replacement: The existing Dubai Bus Route 31 will be replaced by two new routes, F39 and F40. F39 will connect Etisalat Bus Station to Oud Al Muteena Roundabout, while F40 will run between Etisalat Bus Station and Mirdif.
  • Route F56 Replacement: Routes F58 and F59 will replace F56. F58 will serve Al Khail Bus Station and Dubai Internet City, while F59 will connect Dubai Internet City and Dubai Knowledge Village.
  • Route 21 Split: Route 21 will be divided into two routes, 21A and 21B. 21A will operate between Al Quoz Clinical Pathology Services Bus Stop 1 and Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, and 21B will run in the opposite direction.
  • Intercity Route E700: The starting point for E700, the intercity route to Fujairah, will be shifted from Union Bus Station to Etisalat Bus Station.
  • Route Mergers and Adjustments: Several routes will be merged or adjusted to optimize connectivity. For example, Routes 61D and 66 will be merged, and Routes 95 and 95A will be combined into a single route, 95A.

Improved Connectivity to Metro Stations

The revised Dubai bus routes are designed to enhance connections to Dubai’s Metro network. By providing more frequent and direct services to Metro stations, the RTA aims to make it easier for commuters to travel seamlessly across the city.

Additional Enhancements

  • New Bus Stops: New bus stops will be added in Al Furjan to serve Routes F45 and F54.
  • Route Adjustments: Several routes will be modified to include new stops or exclude existing ones. For instance, Route F31 will be adjusted to include stops in The Greens, while Route F54 will remove the JAFZA One stop.
  • Improved Timekeeping: The RTA has announced plans to improve the punctuality of 35 bus routes, ensuring that passengers can rely on timely arrivals.

A Positive Step for Commuters

The RTA’s decision to revamp the Dubai bus network is a positive step towards improving the overall transportation experience in Dubai. By streamlining routes, enhancing connectivity, and ensuring timely arrivals, the authority is demonstrating its commitment to providing efficient and reliable public transportation services.
