Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has made a historic announcement, which is to establish the first assembly unit of battery-powered vehicles (EVs) outside India, in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai, investing USD 25 million. The 42,000-square-foot project is intended to address the soaring demand in the Middle East and African markets for low-emission mobility.

The plant, which will include assembly of OSM electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers and store and distribute automotive components and spares, will commence at the end of 2025. It is held that the project, with more than 100 jobs for the local population in the first phase, will further deepen the clean technology trade relationship between the UAE and India.
Boosting the MENA EV Market
According to industry experts, it is a strategic time. The MENA EV market is also anticipated to see a growth rate of 34.7 percent by 2029, to achieve the USD 14.5 billion mark, driven by both the positive treatment of EVs in government policies and heightened consumer interest and demand, coupled with the development of more charging infrastructure.
Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks and Zones, DP World GCC, stated, “A growing number of manufacturers are looking towards Jafza as a way to access high-growth markets in the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.” The facility brings innovations nearer the region in terms of mobility and supports the fact that Dubai can form an international destination with the car industry.

A Proud Milestone for OSM
To OSM Founder and Chairman Uday Narang, the launch has symbolism since it was launched on Indian Independence Day. The connectivity that Jafza gives to more than 2 billion consumers and the environment in the service of speed, scale, and sustainability is unmatched. We plan to use Dubai to generate clean mobility and thus make it commercially feasible for our partners in the Middle East and Africa,” he added.

Strong Foundation in India
OSM has four manufacturing plants located in India: three plants in Faridabad (Haryana) and one in Pune (Maharashtra), and they have a total capacity of 40,000 units annually.
It has a range of products, such as the three-wheeled OSM Rage+ cargo and OSM Stream passenger vehicles, that are quick charging, battery swapping, and connected-fleet management enabled with up to 270 km of total range per charge.
The Dubai plant will represent an aggressive move to make OSM a global leader in clean transport solutions with more than 160 dealerships in India and over 20,000 of its EVs currently on the streets.
