Etihad Rail announced the launch of a 350kmph electric train that provides service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in under half an hour. The modern project reduces transit duration to a 30 minute journey. The railway transport news portal Railway Supply published this information. On Thursday, Etihad Rail revealed its first high-speed all-electric passenger train which lets people move from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in 30 minutes.

This train, which will run at 350kmph, will pass through six stations: Reem Island, Saadiyat, Yas Island, and Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, as well as near Al Maktoum International Airport and Al Jaddaf area in Dubai. In addition to its modern transport services Etihad Rail plans to provide regular passenger train services along with its existing fleet.

After completing tender processes construction for the fast-speed rail train along with its supporting infrastructure will begin. The availability timeframe for this project remains undefined according to Mohammed Al Shehhi who holds the title of chief projects officer at Etihad Rail. The endeavor will contribute Dh145 billion to UAE GDP through the subsequent 50 years.

Regular passenger trains will gradually cover the UAE national terrain from border to border with stops at Mezeira’a before continuing through Liwa Desert and its notable oasis. The rail network will expand to cover Fujairah and Sharjah before reaching GCC destinations when the GCC Railway becomes operational.
A regular-speed passenger train established connections among every emirate. This passenger train will move at 200kmph while providing seats for 400 individuals. Abu Dhabi along with Dubai and Sharjah and Fujairah make up the four destinations reachable by this train that utilizes the same tracks as the freight trains. The spokesperson confirmed the train is prepared to operate but disclosed no disclosure regarding its operational timeframe.
