Previously, the go-to spot for catching a cab was near the popular Waitrose supermarket. However, as of today, August 12, 2024, this convenient location has been relocated to Zabeel P3. This means that those who relied on a quick taxi ride after a shopping spree or a movie will now need to factor in a slightly longer walk.
To reach the new taxi stand, visitors will have to cross the road via the bridge-tunnel connecting Ekart Zabeel to the main Dubai Mall complex. While this added distance might be inconvenient for some, it’s essential to note that the taxi drop-off and pick-up point near the iconic indoor waterfall remains unchanged.
The decision to relocate the taxi stand was announced on Dubai Mall’s Instagram story. The change comes on the heels of other recent developments at the mall, including the introduction of parking fees earlier this year. The new parking system utilizes Salik and plate recognition technology to implement a fee structure after the first four hours. While Zabeel and Fountain Views parking areas remain free, the changes have impacted the overall parking experience for many visitors.
