Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum meets Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya along with ICC president Jay Shah met the on the sidelines of the Dubai-India Business Forum in Mumbai. IPL 2025 season is not going well for Mumbai Indians. The Hardik Pandya-led team has lost 4 out of the five matches played so far and is at the eighth position in the points table.
India’s Test and ODI team captain Rohit Sharma, T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav along with Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya were also seen in the Indian jersey during this meeting. This meeting is important not only in terms of diplomatic relations between India and UAE but also from the cricket point of view. Team India played the all matches of the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. The Indian team has played many matches in Dubai in the recent past.
Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya were a vital part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, in which India emerged champions. They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and won the title by defeating New Zealand by a margin of four wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in March earlier this year. They played all their matches in Dubai. While Suryakumar Yadav took an important catch in the finals of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to make Team India Champions.

Dubai Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Defence of the UAE, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, recently met the chairperson of the International Cricket Council, Jay Shah, and three Indian cricketers in Mumbai on Tuesday, April 8. The meeting unfolded when Sheikh Hamdan arrived in Mumbai. He was on a landmark two-day visit to India. He was also gifted a customised India jersey titled “DUBAI 11”.
Sheikh Hamdan shared pictures from the meeting on his official Instagram account. Ever since the post was uploaded, it has gone viral on all social media platforms. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed is also known as ‘Faza’ around the world. He is the Crown Prince of Dubai as well as the Defense Minister of UAE and had recently visited India to meet the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi on 8 April 2025.
Mumbai Indians Bad Form Continues in IPL 2025
Mumbai Indians started their campaign with 2 consecutive defeats against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. In the third match, they got a big win over Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets. But after that Hardik Pandya’s army has lost 2 consecutive matches at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
