A man going from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is facing severe criticism after complaining about being fined for slow driving. In the Reddit post, the man said that he was driving at a speed of 110-115 kmph in the second lane and was fined a total of eight times.

In the Reddit post, the man (snazzy_champ) shared a screenshot of the fine imposed on him and claimed that he was not aware of this rule. Under which passengers are fined for driving below the speed limit and stopping vehicles moving at high speed.

He told that he did not get any information about the fine till he returned to Dubai. Apart from this, he appealed to others for help due to his financial difficulties. Here is the screenshot that is shared by the man who got fined eight times.

According to media reports, the man wrote, “I was not aware of this rule and the camera did not have a flash. I had absolutely no idea about this rule that a fine will be imposed for driving a little slow, it was not mentioned anywhere. And I went to Abu Dhabi in the morning and returned at night. I did not get any information till I reached home.

If there was any information about the penalty for morning drive, I would have been careful while going back to Dubai. I know it is my fault but to impose a fine without any information or any news article is completely unfair.”

According to the report, many users on social media slammed the man for being “ignorant”. One user wrote, “Honestly friend, many signs tell that there is a minimum speed limit on the speed lane. If you are going to drive slow then drive on the other lane…”

Another user commented, “I do not wish you ill but well. People have to stop driving in the fast lane at speeds below the maximum limit.” A third user responded: “Great! There should be higher fines for people like you.”
