Dubai prepares for the arrival of the cricket craze in the Bhatkal Premier League (BPL), the 11th season of which will start on December 29, 2024, and end on January 26, 2025, in Indian Republic Day. In this years tournament, 8 teams will compete for the championship in 15 closely contested matches on the JMR Cricket Ground, Dhaid Road, Sharjah. The details were shared following the press release by the BPL Chairman, Yasir Kashimji and the BPL Commissioner, Taha Muallim.

Tournament and Registration Details
The BPL will feature matches every Sunday over a five-week period, with two games per day starting at 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Team registration occurs from November 2 – November 10, 2024 and is open for returning teams and new teams. The four teams that made it to the semi-final round of the previous edition have a chance to book for the places that were earlier occupied by them, and the rest of the places will be approved by the committee of BPL. Participants can forward their entries using mail on this email address – bpluae@yahoo.com.
BPL player registration for UAE resident or visit visa holder will be online from November 12 to November 25 in the year 2024 through www.bpluae.net. Every team must sign only one guest player with a visit visa through an auction to be held on the 8th of December 2024. The current dispensation of the league has put into consideration requisite that icon players should have UAE resident visas.
Tournament Format and Schedule
In an interesting modality, the eight teams that will participate in the championship are grouped into two legs and each will face three matches within the leg. The teams finishing positions first and second on each of the groups will be through to the semi-finals which will determine the route to the final match come January 26. Spectators on the field and fans at home will watch daunting competition displayed by players from various teams across the UAE.
