India’s T20 World Cup-winning captain Suryakumar Yadav has bought a luxury home in Dubai, and fans are already talking about it. The reason is the location. The property is reportedly near a residential project linked to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
How He Shared the News
Suryakumar posted a video on Instagram showing him signing the property documents, with his wife Devisha Shetty beside him. He bought the home through Danube Properties. The price hasn’t been shared.
Why Dubai?
He said his many visits over the years made him fall for the city. In his words, he first came in 2014 and returned in 2020. He added that people from India are looking toward Dubai, and that the luxury and standard of living there feel different.
Safety was another point. He said Mumbai, where he lives, is safe too, but Dubai is also excellent on security. Being there, he said, brings him comfort and happiness.
The Amenities That Won Him Over
Suryakumar said the building has more than 40 premium amenities, but one stood out. He wrote that the Longevity Lounge won him over, calling it something unheard of in residential projects. The video claims the building offers treatments such as hyperbaric therapy, red light therapy, and cryotherapy. Those are claims from the video, so it’s worth checking with the developer before taking them as fact.
The Shah Rukh Khan Link
The property is reportedly close to Shahrukhz Residence, a luxury project that Danube Group is building in Dubai Maritime City and has been named after Shah Rukh Khan. Reports differ on whether Suryakumar’s home is inside that project or just nearby. In the video, he said there was no second thought when he heard a building by Shah Rukh was coming up and that interior work and quality matter most to him.
What Else Is Happening in His Life
The purchase comes at a mixed time. Suryakumar was left out of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad. An MCA source told PTI it was because he kept missing the pre-season training camp. He had said he was available for domestic cricket but reportedly didn’t attend the sessions held before the squad was named.
He also hasn’t played professional cricket since IPL 2026, though he recently took part in a local T20 tournament in Mumbai. Even after leading India to the 2026 T20 World Cup, he is no longer in the T20 side, and Shreyas Iyer took over as captain. Many in Indian cricket were surprised by the change. He is now expected to look for a way back into regular competition and the national team.
A Moneycontrol report also said Devisha bought an Rs 7.18 crore apartment in Mumbai’s Chembur earlier this year, in Godrej Sky Terraces. It was reportedly the third apartment the couple owns in that building.
Why Indian Stars Keep Looking at Dubai
Suryakumar isn’t the first public figure to buy in the city, and his comments explain why it appeals. People often point to safety, lifestyle, and easy travel from India. For a cricketer who spends a lot of time on the road, a home base with good security and wellness facilities makes sense.
If you’re visiting Dubai yourself, getting around is getting easier. There’s now a direct walking link between the Metro and Etihad Rail, which we covered in our story on the pedestrian bridge.
For fans, the news is a fun look at life off the field. For Suryakumar, it’s a personal move to a city he clearly likes, at a time when he’s working to get back on the pitch.
