Dubai Customs has extended the suspension period for customs duties on eligible customs declarations by another 60 days. The latest move takes the total suspension period to 180 days for qualifying cases.
The measure is aimed at reducing financial and administrative pressure on businesses and customers involved in international trade. It is also intended to help maintain supply chains and support the smooth movement of goods through Dubai.
The new extension applies temporarily to customs declarations covered under the announcement. It took effect from the date of issuance and will remain in place until another customs announcement changes or ends the measure.
Which Customs Declarations Are Covered?
The latest Dubai Customs extension applies to suspended duty arrangements that expire after February 27, 2026 and up to October 31, 2026.
There are three main categories covered by the measure. These are goods imported for re-export, goods brought into the UAE under temporary admission and goods moving through Dubai under all types of transit arrangements.
The additional 60 days will begin from the date on which the original customs duty suspension period expires. Businesses covered by the announcement therefore receive an additional period rather than a new fixed deadline starting from the date of the latest announcement.
Import For Re-Export And Temporary Admission
The extension covers goods imported into Dubai with the intention of re-exporting them. This category can be important for businesses that bring goods into the emirate before sending them to another international market.
Temporary admission is another category included in the announcement. It applies to goods that enter the country temporarily under the relevant customs arrangements rather than being permanently imported into the domestic market.
Transit goods in all forms are also covered. This allows eligible shipments moving through Dubai under transit arrangements to benefit from the extended suspension period.
Why Has Dubai Customs Extended The Period?
Dubai Customs said the latest decision is intended to reduce the financial and administrative burden on customers. The authority also highlighted the importance of keeping supply chains operating smoothly during current operational challenges.
For businesses handling international shipments, additional time under a customs duty suspension can provide more flexibility in managing goods and related customs requirements. It can also help businesses avoid having to settle suspended duties before their goods complete the relevant customs process.

Dubai Customs Can Extend The Period Again
The latest announcement does not rule out another extension. Dubai Customs said the suspension period may be extended further in line with its approved rules, controls and procedures.
Any further extension would remain effective until a subsequent customs announcement is issued to terminate or change the arrangement.
The current measure is therefore temporary and applies only to customs declarations that fall within the conditions specified by Dubai Customs.
Previous 120-Day Extension In June 2026
The latest decision follows Customs Announcement No. 12 of 2026, which was issued on June 18. That announcement extended the suspension period to 120 days for eligible customs declarations.
The earlier measure covered arrangements whose suspension periods expired after February 27 and up to July 31, 2026. Dubai Customs said at the time that the measure could be extended through a later announcement.
According to the information released with the earlier extension, 6,613 companies benefited from the 120-day extension covering import for re-export, temporary admission and all forms of transit.
Wider Dubai Customs Support Measures
The customs duty extension is part of a broader package of measures introduced to support businesses and trade activity. Other measures included allowing customs duties to be paid in instalments.
Dubai Customs also reduced financial penalties by 80 per cent under the support package. These measures provided more than Dh79 million in liquidity to 428 companies, according to the authority.
The wider package also included an extension of the transit period from 30 days to 90 days. Consignments were also allowed to enter through Khorfakkan, Fujairah and the Hatta Border Crossing for onward road transport under the customs guarantee system.
Dubai Customs Green Corridor Supports Trade
Dubai Customs has also introduced its Green Corridor, a trade route connecting Dubai with Oman through Hatta. The initiative is designed to support the movement of goods and improve the flow of trade between the UAE and neighbouring markets.
Between March 1 and June 30, more than 203,242 containers moved through the Green Corridor. The shipments represented more than 3.16 million tonnes of goods with a reported value of Dh33.9 billion.
The goods passing through the route came from 188 countries, highlighting the role of Dubai’s customs and logistics infrastructure in international trade.
