Dubai continues to reinforce its position as a regional capital of art and creativity. This destination embraces innovative visual experiences and provides artists with a platform for free expression and the reimagining of contemporary aesthetic concepts.
Within this dynamic cultural landscape, visual artist Sahar Ghavami has unveiled her latest solo exhibition, Home Again, at FN Designs in Alserkal Avenue. The opening evening welcomed members of the media, influencers, and key figures from the local art community in a gathering that celebrated memory, nostalgia, and a redefinition of the concept of “home.” Hosted at FN Designs — the art space founded by Her Highness Sheikha Wafa bint Hasher Al Maktoum — the exhibition presents an immersive visual experience that transports visitors into flat, dreamlike worlds. These imagined spaces revisit childhood as a sanctuary and reconfigure the relationship between human, animal, and memory.

In Home Again, Ghavami transforms her personal journey — from growing up rescuing animals to later being forced to distance herself from them due to health conditions — into a visual narrative that explores themes of loss, healing, and longing. Inspired by the spirit of the Superflat movement, her works combine formal simplicity with emotional depth, constructing boundless realms where fantasy and reality coexist seamlessly.
During the opening, Ghavami shared the project’s conceptual foundations, reflecting on the idea of “distance” as a space for inner reconstruction. She emphasized that Home Again is not merely an exhibition but an attempt to recreate an inner homeland when the physical one feels out of reach.

Speaking at the event, Sahar Ghavami said:
“Home Again is a space I created for myself first — a place I can return to, even if I cannot come close in reality. It is an attempt to mend memory and transform longing into visual strength.”
The evening witnessed strong engagement from attendees, sparking open dialogue about the role of art in translating personal experiences into a universal language and how memory can become a shared space where collective emotions intersect.

Sahar Ghavami holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Education. She has exhibited her work both within the United Arab Emirates and internationally. Her artistic practice centers on themes of longing, play, and imagination as symbolic spaces for self-reflection and emotional exploration.
Home Again remains on view at FN Designs, inviting the public to experience a compelling visual journey that poses a question both simple and profound: Where does true home reside?
