Shubman Gill Added Two World Records to his Name
Indian captain Shubman Gill’s bat spewed fire in the second Test of India vs England at Edgbaston. He scored 269 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings he played an innings of 161 runs. After these two explosive performances, Gill set a flurry of records. Two more world records have been added to his name in this episode. This is the record of scoring the most runs in a Test match as a non-opener and batting at number 4 or below.

The world record for scoring the most runs in a Test is held by former England captain and opening batsman Graham Gooch. In 1990, he set this world record by scoring 456 runs against India. But Gooch made this record as an opener.

Talking about non-opener players, Shubman Gill has managed to make this world record in his name with innings of 269 and 161 runs. A total of 430 runs came from the bat of newly appointed Test captain of team India in the Edgbaston Test.
