Dubai has introduced three leading global universities to its higher education product in time ahead of the next academic year. Knowledge and Human Development Authority has disclosed that the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad of India, American University of Beirut and Fakeeh College of Medical Sciences of Dubai will also open up campuses in the same city in the academic year 2025/26.

Dubai has all that a student would ever dream of; it is full of vibrant nightlife, an amazing weather and some of the best universities in the world with their campuses established in the emirate. The current number of international higher education providers operating in Dubai has reached 41 (37 of them being international brand campus) and offers a wide variety of educational programmes to cover the demands of students.
The business and management programme offered by IIM Ahmedabad is placed at 27th position in the ranking of the top universities worldwide according to QS topic rankings, with the American University of Beirut ranking at 237th place overall. International Branches in Dubai Located in Dubai are international branches of prestigious universities including the University of Manchester, the University of Birmingham and Curtin University.

Dubai is set to become one of the top 10 global cities in the world and it is to be hoped, to have a population proportion of international students in the total number of students in higher educational systems, hence the target is set at 50 per cent by 2033. Total student enrolment in higher education institutions recorded a record 20 per cent increase and international student uptake in the last academic year recorded a 29 percent uptake.
Dr Wafi Dawood, CEO of Strategic Development Zone at KHDA, highlighted the significance of this development in an interview, saying, “Dubai’s initiative to attract the best global universities, supported by the Executive Council, reflects the emirate’s international stature. Dubai’s visionary leaders have ensured all the resources necessary to establish the emirate as a global leader and a top destination for students and prestigious international higher education institutions.”

“We aim to enhance the global competitiveness of Dubai’s graduates, grow educational tourism tenfold by 2033, integrate a new generation of Emiratis into the workforce and future sectors, and contribute to doubling Dubai’s economy over the next decade, positioning the city among the world’s top three economic hubs.” There are now a total of 42,026 students enrolled across Dubai’s 41 private higher education institutions – the highest number ever.
