UAE National Day 2024: UAE residents are preparing for a long and an enjoyable weekend because the National Day holidays are already confirmed. According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), private sector employees would be getting the public holidays on Monday, December 2, and Tuesday, December 3 of the year 2024. When coupled with the traditional Saturday-Sunday style of the weekend, this gives most people in the country a four day weekend. This announcement complies with the Cabinet’s decision on public holidays for year 2024 to provide equal provisions for holidays for the public and private employees.
Unified Holiday Policy for Public and Private Sectors
This means that through special policy formulation for holidays in UAE, governmental and managers of private companies give equal holiday times. The holiday arrangements for the ministries and federal entities on National Day are also announced earlier, and it also included in the cabinet approved list of holiday for the year 2024.
Unlike most countries that have their national day on the day they gained independence, the UAE has its national day on December 2nd in recognition of what is called Eid Al Etihad – the unification of the Emirates in 1971. This year, the nation will celebrate 53rd anniversary of this great nation while considering its success story that highlights its progress in unity.
