Marine Lines: Dubai, a city known for its ambitious projects, has once again raised the bar with the expansion of its marine transport system. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled two new major marine lines that connect Dubai Creek Harbour to key tourist attractions and residential areas, offering residents and visitors alike a scenic and affordable way to explore the city.

Marine Lines: A Booming Waterway

Launched in 2022, the initial marine transport lines linking Dubai Creek Harbour to Al Khor Metro Station and Dubai Festival City quickly gained popularity. With a staggering 900% increase in passenger numbers from 3,000 to 30,000 monthly riders, it was clear that the demand for waterborne transportation was soaring.

To accommodate the surge in popularity, the RTA, in collaboration with Emaar Properties, has enhanced the marine transport system. Additional ticket-selling kiosks and berths have been introduced to ensure a smoother and more efficient passenger experience.

A Route for Every Occasion

The first line operates on weekends, connecting Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City from 4pm to 11:55pm. Perfect for a leisurely evening cruise, this route offers stunning views of the city skyline while providing convenient access to the bustling entertainment district.

For commuters, the second line is a game-changer. Operating on weekdays from 7:30am to 10:50am and 4pm to 10:50pm, it links Dubai Creek Harbour with Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station. This route offers a refreshing alternative to traditional modes of transportation and helps alleviate traffic congestion.

A Partnership for Progress

The successful development of these marine transport lines is a testament to the collaboration between the RTA and Emaar Properties. By combining their expertise, the two entities have created a transportation system that not only benefits residents but also enhances Dubai’s appeal as a global tourist destination.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, expressed his satisfaction with the lines’ performance and emphasized the RTA’s commitment to expanding marine transport options. Ahmed Al Matrooshi, executive board member of Emaar, highlighted the importance of the partnership in achieving Dubai’s vision of becoming a world-class city.

Affordable Luxury

One of the most attractive features of these marine transport lines is the fare. At just Dhs2 per ride, passengers can enjoy a picturesque journey while saving money on transportation costs. This affordability has undoubtedly contributed to the rapid growth in ridership.

As Dubai continues to evolve, the marine transport system is poised to play an increasingly important role in the city’s infrastructure. With its stunning waterfront views, convenience, and affordability, it is no wonder that this mode of transportation is gaining popularity among both residents and visitors.
