Indian Cricket Team members recently took fitness tests at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. However, the test reportedly did not include a crucial exercise—the bronco test. The Bronco test, suggested by new strength and conditioning coach Adrian Le Roux, was not included in the session.

Bronco Test Could be Held in Dubai
According to the reports, the players only underwent routine health checks, mobility drills, agility drills, and a yo-yo test. The report states that the Bronco test could also take place after the Asia Cup 2025 squad reaches Dubai. India’s first training session will be on September 5 at the ICC Academy, and the management could include it at that time.

The report quoted a source as saying, “It could happen when the team assembles in Dubai for the Asia Cup. The team will leave late tonight (September 4 morning) and will have their first session at the ICC Academy on September 5. So if the management and S&C want to conduct a Bronco Test, it could happen in Dubai. If it even happens, that is.”

Although the Bronco Test is not a criterion for direct selection, all centrally contracted players and those on the target list for selection are expected to prove their fitness before any major tournament. Recently, players like Rohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Shreyas Iyer had given fitness tests at the BCCI’s academy.
