Dubai Police is implementing its latest initiative in the field of smart policing, a self-driving patrol vehicle, which will start patrolling the streets of Global Village tomorrow. The announcement was followed by the press conference at the GITEX Global 2025 on Tuesday, which became another milestone in the dedication of Dubai to state-of-the-art security and artificial intelligence integration.
The autonomous patrol, in its turn, is planned to be autonomous and at the same time connected to the Command and Control Centre, which will allow it to identify incidents and notify officers in real time. A fully autonomous robot with AI-controlled navigation, 360 cameras, and sophisticated environmental sensors, DPR 02 will easily navigate the streets of large cities and various open areas, covering every part of an area.

The DPR 02 is built to operate continuously and autonomously, with state-of-the-art technology, such as AI-controlled navigation, 360-degree cameras, and sophisticated sensors. The robotic patrol car remains in permanent contact with the Dubai Police Command and Control Centre whereby it is capable of identifying any potential problems, alerting the officers immediately, and organizing quick responses.

Smarter policing powered by AI
The self-driving patrol is designed to run 24 hours a day, which provides data-based situational awareness to enable quicker and more informed decisions by the officers. It constantly collects and transfers real-time data to the control room, enhancing coordination and improving operational efficiency.
Dubai Police made it clear that the DPR 02 will not take over the human officers, but it will serve to complement and improve the operations in the field. The highly connected car will enable the car to communicate in real-time with the command teams, and this will ensure that officers are in a position to respond to any emerging situation.

The police issued a statement saying that this innovation highlights the level of smart security and AI acceptance in Dubai. DPR 02 enhances our safety maintenance capabilities, minimizes reaction time, and provides proactive policing according to the vision of the city of Dubai that is smart and secure.
