This significant addition to Dubai’s parking infrastructure is a welcome update for residents and visitors alike. Dubai’s roads are known for their vibrancy, but that vibrancy often translates to parking difficulties. This expansion aims to alleviate the stress of finding a spot, especially in popular areas.

The Dubai Parking Expansion Plan: A Breakdown

The new Dubai parking spaces will be rolled out in phases across six key locations within the emirate. These locations include Arjan, Jaddaf Waterfront, Al Sufouh Gardens, DLRC (Dubai Logistics City), and Liwan 1 & 2.

Operational Hours and Zones

The new Dubai parking spaces will be operational from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. To cater to varying needs and budgets, the spaces will be divided into two zones with distinct hourly rates.

Zone A:

  • Zone A offers a more affordable option, with rates starting at AED 2 for half an hour and reaching AED 16 for four hours.

Zone B:

  • Zone B caters to longer parking durations, with rates starting at AED 3 for one hour and reaching AED 20 for a full 24 hours.

A Breakdown of New Parking Locations

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the new Dubai parking spaces allocated to each location:

Zone A

  • Arjan: 435 spaces
  • Al Sufouh Gardens: 125 spaces
  • Jaddaf Waterfront: 283 spaces

Zone B

  • Arjan: 887 spaces
  • Al Sufouh Gardens: 112 spaces
  • DLRC: 1,768 spaces
  • Liwan 1 & 2: 1,706 spaces

Timeline and Implementation

The new Dubai parking spaces are expected to be operational once the necessary infrastructure is in place. This includes the installation of parking meters, signage, road markings, and bollards. Parkin is collaborating with a private developer who will own the spaces but entrust Parkin with their management and operation for the next four years.

Fines and Regulations

Parkin will have the authority to issue fines for any violations of applicable parking regulations within these new zones. This ensures responsible parking practices and helps maintain order within the new Dubai parking system.

A Brighter Parking Future for Dubai

The addition of 7,456 new Dubai parking spaces signifies a significant step towards a more convenient and efficient parking experience in the city. With a wider range of options and designated zones, drivers can anticipate less time spent searching for a spot and more time enjoying their destinations. This expansion is sure to be welcomed by residents, visitors, and businesses alike, contributing to a smoother overall experience within the city.
