The outline of the tournament is being finalized, but it has been decided that this time the Asia Cup will be organized in T20 format with 8 teams. 5 full member nations will take part in this Asian tournament, as well as 3 winners of the ACC Premier Cup will also be seen playing in the tournament. This time the tournament is likely to be played in T20 format with 8 teams.

Talking about full member nations, it includes the teams of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, while the 3 winners of the ACC Premier Cup were UAE, Oman and Hong Kong.
