R Madhavan is stepping into a brand new role, and this time, it’s got nothing to do with acting. The actor is set to host a fresh business reality show called The Gamechangers, which brings startup founders and investors from around the world together under one roof. The show will be produced in Dubai specifically for audiences across the Middle East, though the makers are already eyeing an international rollout down the line.
The premise is pretty exciting for anyone with an entrepreneurial streak. Startup founders will get the chance to pitch their business ideas directly in front of an international panel of investors coming in from Dubai, London, Russia, and the United States.
And the response so far seems to be strong. A huge number of startups have already shown interest, with 70 standout founders eventually being selected to pitch their ideas to the panel. For those chosen, the opportunity goes well beyond just the pitch itself, they’ll get a shot at real financial backing, face time with established business leaders, and a genuine push to help grow their companies.
Speaking about the show, R Madhavan shared what drew him to the project in the first place. “Every great company begins with belief. A belief in an idea, a vision, and the courage to pursue it. The UAE has become one of the world’s most exciting destinations for innovation, and The Gamechangers Middle East is designed to discover bold founders, champion transformative ideas, and inspire a new generation to think bigger and create lasting legacies,” he said.
Filmmaker and producer Vipul D Shah is also attached to the project. According to him, the overwhelming response the show has already received says a lot about how many entrepreneurs in the region are actively looking for new ways to scale their businesses.
Beyond just the pitching and the investment side of things, The Gamechangers is also built to connect founders with mentors who’ve already been through the startup grind themselves, along with potential funding opportunities. For viewers, it’s shaping up to be more than a typical reality format too, offering a closer look at the founders themselves, their journeys, the struggles behind building something from scratch, and what they’re hoping to achieve next.
As for when you’ll actually get to watch it, the makers haven’t locked in an official premiere date just yet, but the show is expected to drop sometime in late 2026.
This isn’t R Madhavan’s first time behind the host’s desk either. His hosting journey actually goes back to 1997, when he fronted Tol Mol Ke Bol. He later went on to host the Indian version of Deal or No Deal in 2005, followed by Big Money in 2010, so stepping into this new business focused format feels like a natural next chapter for him.
In other Dubai and Bollywood news making the rounds this week, festive shoppers are already cashing in on Dubai gold prices dropping below Dh500 a gram just ahead of Navratri and Diwali. And if you’re a Bollywood fan keeping tabs on upcoming events in the city, Kareena Kapoor Khan is also set to bring her star power to the IIFA 2027 stage later this January.
