Dubai has just launched Shahrukhz By Danube, a 55-storey commercial tower named after the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, in a historic and emotional move for the fans all over the world. It is the first real estate venture in Dubai to have the name of SRK officially attached to it, making the world icon a permanent member of the shining skyline of the city.
However, the launch was not held in Dubai. Rather, it was unveiled in Mumbai, where Danube Properties founder Rizwan Sajan insisted on the announcement being done in India, where he himself started his career, and where Khan has already acquired an unmatched fan following.

A Fan-Filled Launch in Mumbai
The event began on a peaceful note, with Sajan recalling the only time he met Gauri Khan on Zoom. However, as soon as Shah Rukh Khan came, the tone changed, and applause, whistles, and the usual charm of the superstar rocked the place.
SRK laughed, joking that his appearances in public were fewer, “Main Eid ka chaand ho gaya hoon… bahut kam dikhta hoon, par jab dikhta hoon toh kamaal hota hai!” The 60-year-old actor grew visibly emotional, calling the gesture one of the biggest honours of his life.
“My mother would have been very happy. When my kids come to Dubai, I’ll tell them, ‘Look, that’s your papa’s building’—though it belongs to Rizwan bhai!” he said, making the audience erupt in laughter.

The commercial skyscraper of 55 storeys at the renowned Sheikh Zayed Road, which is considered to be one of the most active and prestigious streets in the city of Dubai, has been officially introduced by Danube Properties.

The project has a gross saleable value of about AED 1.76 billion. Danube Group Managing Director Adel Sajan stated that the name of the actor will be forever related to the tower:
We have a deal with Shah Rukh that this tower will be named by him forever. No other individual, not even in Dubai, can afford such a tower any time soon.

According to Adel Sajan, the building is designed to portray the charisma of the star: “We believe this will become a must-visit landmark. Just like people go to see Mannat, they will line up to take photos with the statue of Shah Rukh Khan.”
Why the Launch Happened in Mumbai, Not Dubai
Shah Rukh Khan disclosed that at the beginning, he assumed that the unveiling would be in Dubai. However, Sajan demanded that the project should be opened in Mumbai—a token of respect to the great emotional attachment of the actor towards India. Sajan replied, India is still there in my heart.
