Empowering Residents to Go Green
The competition will motivate the locals to make their own gardens and green spaces sustainable in line with the current trends in landscaping and sustainable practices. It also helps the Dubai municipality to continue the quest to increase urban green spaces, improve environmental awareness, and incorporate sustainability into everyday life, a vision that matches the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040.

In order to mentor the participants, Dubai Municipality will organize workshops, awareness campaigns, and online tutorials to ensure that the residents embrace new styles of gardening. The participants are going to be advised to implement effective water and energy devices, materials that are eco-friendly, and intelligent technologies to develop self-sufficient gardens at the home and community levels.
A Vision Rooted in Sustainability
In a commentary on the initiative, Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Awadi, the Director of the Agriculture Department at Dubai Municipality, stated:
This contest indicates the desire to improve the urban environment of Dubai and the creation of the agricultural industry. It is not about the mere planting of trees but about creating environmental responsibility and awareness in all neighborhoods. Each of these sustainable home gardens adds to the identity of the city, contributing to the fact that Dubai is a worldwide sustainability and quality of life leader.
Al-Awadi observed that its past iterations experienced an impressive level of community participation, which shows the enthusiasm of the residents towards sustainable gardening and environmental conservation.
