Dubai is preparing to host one of its most anticipated fitness events, Dubai Ride 2025, scheduled on Sunday, November 2. To accommodate thousands of cyclists and spectators who are expected to attend, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has declared increased Dubai Metro timings, with trains commencing as early as 3:00 am. The shift is to guarantee smooth transportation access since the Sheikh Zayed Road and a few connecting roads will close temporarily for the event.

Dubai Metro to Start Early at 3:00 AM
To host Dubai Ride 2025, a flagship event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the RTA has also increased the operating hours of the Metro to serve participants. On Sunday, November 2, the trains on the Red and Green Lines will start operating at 3:00 am and will run throughout the day until 12:00 midnight.

The early start will facilitate easy access among the cyclists going to the starting points of the Sheikh Zayed Road and spectators going to the viewing areas throughout the city. The event last year attracted more than 37,000 bikers, and this time around, the number is likely to exceed the count, making the extended Metro service an important support mechanism to ensure a smooth running of the event.
Sheikh Zayed Road and Major Route Closures
In order to make sure that the safety of the participants remains intact, the RTA will arrange some temporary road closures between 3:00 am and 10:00 am on Sunday. The roadblocks will include various key arteries that will include:
- Sheikh Zayed Road: Between the Trade Centre Roundabout and Al Hadiqa Bridge
- Lower Financial Centre Street: Between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road
- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard: Entire one-way stretch
Drivers have been encouraged to consider their destinations ahead of time and access other highways like the Upper Financial Centre Street, Zabeel Palace Road, Al Wasl Road, Al Khail Road, and Al Asayel Road. The official channels of RTA have detailed diversion maps.

Salik Toll Adjustments During Dubai Ride 2025
Salik toll charges will observe a temporary variable pricing schedule in an attempt to control the flow of traffic during the event on November 2:
- Dh6 (Increased Rate): 6:00 am – 10:00 am
- Dh4 (Standard Rate): 10:00 am – 1:00 am
- No Toll Charges: 1:00 am – 6:00 am (Monday morning)
The purpose of these adjustments is to motivate commuters to plan and take up new routes that will ease the congestion around the areas of the events.
A City Pedalling Toward Fitness and Sustainability
Dubai Ride 2025 is an event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, a city-wide challenge to get its residents to exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day for 30 days. The event also turns Sheikh Zayed Road into a gigantic cycling circuit, which gives the competitors a unique chance to go past the iconic Dubai skyline.

Having longer hours on the Dubai Metro, proper traffic control, and emphasis on community spirit involvement, the 2014 edition of the Dubai Ride is set to not only sell the idea of fitness to the audience but also the idea that Dubai is a community of health, community, and sustainable mobility.
